Speaking at a meeting with Kazakhstan’s Minister of Investment and Development Asset Issekeshev, Iran’s Hojjati referred to the capabilities and capacities of the two countries in the agriculture sector; “growing apples marks as a proper ground for collaboration since Iran remains as the largest producer and exporter of apples in the world.”
The official expressed Iran’s readiness to exchange experiences and scientific findings in the field of agriculture deeming extra-territorial culture an another possible venue for boosting bilateral ties; “we would certainly pursue the plan and agricultural firms in the private sector has made promising investments in extra-territorial culture over the past few months.”
Hojjati further touched upon an earlier meeting with his Kazakh counterpart adding “during the session, a joint working group in the field of bolstering agricultural relations was formed the representatives of which have defined various venues for cooperation.”
“Cereal marks an import item for Iran in addition to a portion of edible oil which is supplied by foreign countries,” noted the Iranian agriculture minister stressing “consequently, imports will be based on individual items and approaches for collaboration will be investigated only for goods that are needed in the long run.”
“The Islamic Republic of Iran can act as an export panel for Kazakhstan,” mentioned Hojjati expressing willingness to reinvigorate ties in the area of agriculture.
Minister of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Asset Issekeshev, for his part, underlined that he is being accompanied by a 250-people delegation consisting of activists in industry and trade sectors; “we have begun economic talks with Iranian companies on sealing a deal for the sale of vegetable oil.”
Issekeshev deemed Iran as a special economic zone and exports hub emphasizing “we have received good proposals from Kazakh firms for the export of meat to Iran; we possess plans to produce Halal meat.”
“We hold great capacities for production of turkey meat as well as forage,” said the Kazakh minister enumerating possible venues for bilateral cooperation including the sectors of metallurgy, mining, machine building, transport, energy, export of technical and engineering services, tourism as well as banking and investment transactions.
He concluded by commenting that “the two countries have good cooperation in extacting gold from mines of Kurdistan Province in Iran with investments worth 100 million dollars.”
